On the podium again, but this time on the top: Matteo Ferrari is back to victory at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. A victory strongly chased to earn 25 more points and recover the gap in the overall standing. The rider number 11 of the Trentino Gresini MotoE team, thanks to the crash of the blameless Dominique Aegerter, moves back to lead the MotoE standing and at Le Mans he will have four points ahead of its direct rival (Aegerter), seven on Jordi Torres and fifteen on Mattia Casadei.
An unforgettable Sunday for the team led by Fausto Gresini who also obtained a fifth place with Alessandro Zaccone. Rokkie of the MotoE, Zaccone was good at recovering several positions starting from tenth on the grid. The two Italian riders thus recorded the best result of the team Trentino Gresini MotoE.
In three weeks the final round of the MotoE World Cup will be staged at Le Mans, with two races on 10 and 11 October.
Matteo Ferrari
“It was tough, especially at the beginning because Domi had a strong start. After the MotoGP warm-up, the track had more grip and I felt more comfortable. After Aegerter's fall I continued to keep my pace and it went well! I have to say thank you to my team, yesterday we reviewed Race 1 and in particular the last lap and today I was ready to close all the lines if necessary.”
Alessandro Zaccone
“I finally enjoyed. The setup is finally ok and perhaps the only regret was starting so far behind. In the race it took me a while to overtake Medina, who is strong at braking and we are not that strong yet. When Granado and Di Meglio passed me, despite being protagonists of this category, I thought that today it was my turn!"
