In the German GP of MotoE at Sachsenring, Jordi Torres takes the victory in Race 1. The Openbank Aspar team rider precedes Randy Krummenacher and Matteo Ferrari.
Race 1 of the MotoE of the German GP – This weekend, on the German Sachsenring circuit, the third round of the 2023 season of the MotoE takes place, the first with World Championship status and with the new V21L electric Ducati.
The race was won by the two-time MotoE champion, Jordi Torres, from the Openbank Aspar team. The Spanish rider preceded Randy Krummenacher (Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE) and Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini Racing).
Matteo Ferrari, who started from tenth position due to a technical penalty, fought until the end of the race and crossed the finish line in fourth place. The Gresini team rider earned the third step of the podium due to Spinelli's post-race penalty.
Two crashes at the first corner of the last lap. Granado while in the lead went wide and then slid as he tried to get back on the racing line. Hector Garzò, still in turn 1, was touched by Spinelli who caused him to crash. After the race, the incident between Spinelli and Garzò was analyzed by the race direction. The Italian rider was penalized by three seconds, moving from third to sixth place overall. In the Top 5 also Alessandro Zaccone and Mattia Casadei.
In the standings Torres remains in the lead with 88 points ahead of Ferrari (78 points) and Krummenacher (65 points).
