In the German GP of MotoE at Sachsenring, Hector Garzò takes the victory in Race 2. The Dynavolt Intact GP team rider thus obtains his first victory in the World Championship.

Race 2 of the MotoE of the German GP – This weekend, on the German Sachsenring circuit, the third round of the 2023 MotoE season will take place, the first with World Championship status and with the new V21L electric Ducati.
The race was won by Hector Garzò, in his first victory in MotoE; the Valencian rider thus brings the victory back to the Dynavolt Intact GP team after the era marked by Dominique Aegerter. On the MotoE podium at Sachsenring we also find Mattia Casadei (HP Pons Racing) and Jordi Torres (Openbank Aspar Team),
At the start, Garzò immediately overtook Torres, who started from the pole position. The first two were immediately followed by Casadei, Granado and Spinelli. Ferrari, who started from the fourth row on the grid, is eighth after the first corner.
After one lap, Spinelli began to lose ground on the first four and was overtaken by Krummenacher, who continued to push and closed the gap on the leading group.
On the third lap, after an initial study phase, Torres overtook Garzò and took the lead while the first drops of rain began to fall from the sky. Seeing the possibility that the race could be interrupted due to the weather conditions, Casadei attempted a double attack and took the lead, overtaking both Garzò and Torres in the same braking. Other than the first three, the leading group is made up of Granado, Krummenacher, Ferrari and Spinelli.

On the fifth lap, Torres attacked Casadei who responded with a counterattack, but it was Garzò who took advantage of the fight between the first two to overtake them and take the lead, passing first on the straight to the finish line with five laps to go.
The rain begins to fall more intensely and the riders try to gain positions in view of an increasingly probable red flag. Krummenacher passes Granado who overtakes him back imitated by Spinelli.
The leading group led by Hector Garzò crosses the finish line on the sixth lap and after a few seconds the red flag is displayed, which sanctions the end of the race. Six laps are completed and the full race score is thus assigned.
The order of arrival is that of the sixth crossing the finish line, with Garzò first, followed by Casadei and Torres. For Garzò it is the first victory in MotoE and the first in 2023 for the Dynavolt Intact GP team. In the general standings Torres leaves the Sachsenring with 18 points ahead of Ferrari and 20 over Garzò.
The next two races of the MotoE in a week, at the Dutch circuit of Assen.
