Dynavolt Intact GP rider Dominique Aegerter took second place in the Red Bull de España Grand Prix, the first round of the MotoE World Cup 2021 at the Angel Nieto circuit in Jerez.
The FIM Enel MotoE World Cup is known for its action-packed duels and the opening race in Jerez de la Frontera also had a lot to offer in terms of tension and drama. The Swiss rider started from the first row and was one of the protagonists of the race which this year took place on a total of eight laps, two more than last year. Since the green light, Aegerter was in the leading group, fighting first with Granado and then with Zaccone, the winner of the race, until the fight in the last corners with Torres for second place.

Dominique Aegerter
“The race was actually positive. I gave everything throughout the entire eight laps, but I did have some tricky moments. I then prepared everything for the last lap so that I could start one last attack, but I went into it with too much lean angle and speed so that I almost had a highsider. I tried to catch up again but couldn't overtake Zaccone. It was certainly a good result for the first race, especially after a rather difficult weekend. In the end, it was important to win as many points as possible. I am happy and thankful that Dorna is still making it possible for us to race in these difficult times. I'm looking forward to attacking again at Le Mans in two weeks. The goal has to be to always be on the podium in order to be able to fight for the title until the very end. My team did a very good job this weekend and I hope we can improve further."
Next round in two weeks on the French track at Le Mans for the French GP.
