Miquel Pons achieved an excellent Top 5 result in the Gran Premio de España on Sunday at his first ever race in the MotoE World Cup. Starting from the fourth row, the Spaniard managed to recover five positions, overtaking in the final lap the champion of the 2019 edition, Matteo Ferrari.
Unfortunately Kevin Zanonni crashed on the first lap at turn five, after being hit by Corentin Perolari. Zannoni was able to get back on the bike and re-join the race, finishing his first race in MotoE in the points area.
Next round in two weeks on the French track at Le Mans for the French GP.

The report of the Spanish GP of MotoE World Cup
Miquel Pons
“We’ve started the race from behind and we wanted to recover as many positions as possible. The first laps were difficult, another rider touched me and I feel I was being slowed down by other riders so I couldn't set my pace well. Anyway, we’ve learned a lot this weekend, we now know that we need to manage the E-pole differently. Basically, I can’t wait to be back on track for the next race in LeMans, I feel ready, we’ll work hard to get there at 100%. "
Kevin Zannoni
“It wasn't a great race. At turn five from the start another rider took me down. It’s a pity because I recovered some positions in the first corners and I think I had good pace; it would have been a much better race. In the end, I finished fourteenth and got at least two points. Anyway, I want to thank my team for the work they did this weekend. I can't wait for the next race."
