First MotoE test in Jerez: Ferrari ready for the Championship

The World Champion of the MotoE 2019 Matteo Ferrari

Excellent test for the Trentino Gresini MotoE Team in Jerez de la Frontera, in particular for Matteo Ferrari, class champion and point of reference for the category. The rider number 11 was among the best in all the sessions ending his three days with the time of 1'47.494, the best ever. Ferrari has been very fast in all scenarios, in the morning and in the afternoon, and consistently on top in every session.

Ferrari, who completed about fifty total laps, worked on the setting of the bike to continue its development and tune a few details in view of the debut that will take place on the Andalusian track in early May.
As far as Alessandro Zaccone was concerned, it was the first test on track with the Ego Corsa of Energica. The rookie of the team Gresini focused on the riding style that must be adapted to this decidedly unconventional bike. His final time of 1'48.744 is equivalent to the 13th time of the class.

MATTEO FERRARI # 11
“A good test, we had a good step of the setup and there are still some changes to be made to understand if the direction we are taking is the right one. It was not easy, even for the lack of the telemetry specialist from the second day onwards. We made an effort to compensat it, on my part to make myself understood and on the part of the team to make the changes we needed. I had good lap times, so this is definitely a good sign."

ALESSANDRO ZACCONE # 61
“It was my first test with the MotoE and it was useful to understand this bike a little more. The weight is remarkable and it must be driven ridden opposite of the Moto2 and you have to brake very little. All is very different from what I'm used to. Having said that, we improved session after session, apart from some battery problems that did not allow us to make a good performance in the FP2. We are working on it, there is a lot of enthusiasm and I must say that I am satisfied with this three days."

The next event of the MotoE is scheduled in Jerez de la Frontera from 8 to 10 April, but everything will depend on the evolution of the world situation.
