The MotoE World Championship 2024 teams and riders have completed the pre-season tests. Oscar Gutierrez had the best time on the last day of the test. Now, begins the Portuguese GP, the first stage of the 2024 world championship.
Before the official start of the 2024 World Championship, the MotoE had one last test day at the Autodromo do Algarve, Portugal. According to the plan, this fourth and final day of pre-season tests was meant to help the teams complete testing with the new Michelin Slick MotoE tyres. Unfortunately, the weather in the Algarve had different plans, so the riders of the MotoGP electric class found the track wet due to the rain that fell in the middle of the day.
In the first session, Eric Granado was the fastest on track, while in the following two sessions, Nicholas Spinelli and rookie Oscar Gutierrez set the best times. However, due to the weather, the lap times were not significant, on average more than 10 seconds slower than the times recorded in February with a dry track.
