5 questions to Francesco Guidotti

Francesco Guidotti is a name that, for motorcycle enthusiasts, needs no introduction. Son and brother of art, with motorcycles in his DNA, he "saw his first race at 4 months". When he grew up, he started working on the track with technical roles, but character and experience led him to do the Team Manager for several seasons, or, according to his own definition of a while ago, “a figure with a certain charisma, one that when he says something, 9 times on 10 manages to do it; one that must try to prevent problems because, when you arrive on the track, everything must work ”. After having accumulated experience in practically all the classes, at 46 years he is holding the new adventure of the MotoE, as Pramac Racing Team Manager MotoE. The first tests in Jerez, between rain and the need to alternate two pilots (De Angelis and Hook) on a single motorcycle, left positive but limited feelings (read , promising the considerations of De Angelis). Guidotti's experience, however, is able to compensate for the lack of data ("there are totally new aspects to consider very carefully - he admits - and the tension is great!") While his well-known frankness allows him to give here his first impressions.

1 - Not all teams have accepted the challenge of MotoE. Why do you do?
Mainly because starting from scratch offers the opportunity to contribute to the creation and development of this project. An occasion like this doesn't happen every day and this is a very engaging aspect.

2 - The business aspect: do you think the class MotoE Will it help attract new sponsors?
We are experiencing it as a growth opportunity at 360 degrees, a land to be explored. Of course there are risks, but we think the MotoE on the one hand, it can lead to a broadening of the horizon at a technical level and, on the other, be attractive to new sponsors, yes.

3 - Considered the "ecological" soul of the MotoE, do you think you will have specific, greener sponsorships that are not seen in the other classes?
Not only. At the moment we are experiencing interest from different types of companies, aware that they can approach this category, which is within the MotoGP weekends, with more affordable budgets than any other class. In my opinion we will see something interesting starting from the seasons to come, when the championship will have a stronger identity.

4 - La MotoE will have characteristics completely different from that of the FormulaE. Do you think it's the right way?
"In FormulaE there are very interesting aspects, first of all the possibility of racing in the centers of the big metropolises: it would be very suggestive if they were also replicated in the MotoEbut clearly security does not allow it. In general, cars and motorcycles have very different needs ”.

5 - What was the general balance sheet of the first tests carried out in Jerez?
“There was a lot of anticipation to see bikes and riders ride together, it really seemed like the first day of school for us who have been on the circuits for years! In any case, I would say that the balance is very positive: we have finally begun to take some measures with the entire organizational structure, even this one still needs to be run in ”.
