Michele Pirro and Alex de Angelis are carrying out the shakedown of the Ducati MotoE that will participate in the 2023 World Championship. The debut on the track of Ducati's electric motorcycles with the official riders of the championship will be in three weeks' time, on the occasion of the tests on the Jerez circuit.

After the MotoGP tests at Sepang, it's time for the shakedown of the MotoE designed by Ducati. At the Modena Circuit, a few kilometers from Borgo Panigale, Michele Pirro and Alex De Angelis are carrying out the last checks on the bikes on track. Ducati has built 23 examples of its first electric model, the V21L, a laboratory on two wheels to develop technologies and knowledge for a future production model.
After the checks on track, the bikes will be delivered to Dorna, who will assign them to the eighteen registered riders of the MotoE World Championship 2023. Five spare bikes will be kept in the paddock, in case one of the official ones is damaged and it is impossible to repair it on the spot.

The Ducati "V21L" represents the MotoGP of electric motorcycles: it has the chassis dimensions, electronic technologies and stylistic features developed by Ducati Corse for the Panigale of the SBK World Championship. It is the result of the best skills of the two worlds, racing and production, a prototype with which Ducati experiments in a world yet to be discovered, that of electric sport bikes.
In this interview with Andrea Ferraresi, Head of Design at Ducati, you will find the story of the birth of the V21L, developed following the "Manual of the good Ducati designer".

In December 2021, just over a year ago, Michele Pirro did the first test of the MotoE by Ducati at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. Now, after several months of tests, analysis and checks, the time has finally come to see on track the protagonists of the 2023 season of the FIM Enel MotoE World Championship.
The first official test of the 6 electric World Championship will take place in Jerez de la Frontera from 8 to 2023 March. For those wishing to see the MotoE in action on the Andalusian track, entry to the X1 tribune is free for all three days.
A second test session will take place in early April at the Barcelona circuit, while the official start of the MotoE World Championship 2023 will be in mid-May during the French GP at the Le Mans circuit.
