Ramon Forcada will be the technical director for the Forward Racing MotoE team. The Spanish technician, famous for having supported riders such as Jorge Lorenzo, Franco Morbidelli and Andrea Dovizioso in MotoGP, will lead the Forward Racing team at its debut in MotoE with the Ducati V21L.

Forward Racing is one of the two new teams participating in the 2024 MotoE World Championship. Giovanni Cuzari's team announced at the end of 2023 that it would double its commitment to the world championship, participating in both Moto2 and MotoE.
In Moto2, Forward Racing is one of the two manufacturers, together with Boscoscuro, not to be part of the Kalex motorcycle line-up that dominates the starting grid of the world championship. For years, in fact, the Forward Racing team has been designing, developing and manufacturing its own Moto2 bikes. If this philosophy continues in Moto2 in 2024, it won't be like this MotoE, where the 18 bikes of the electric MotoGP championship are supplied for the period 2023-2026 by Ducati.

Forward Racing takes over in MotoE to the Cryptodata RNF team, a team that was excluded from the world championship at the end of 2023 for failing to comply with various contractual obligations. In MotoGP, the two ex-RNF Aprilia were taken over by the new American team Trackhouse, while the two Ducati V21L for the MotoE World Championship were taken by Cuzari, whose team, including Moto2 and MotoE, will line up four riders in the 2024 World Championship. In Moto2, the riders are Alex Escrig, who is in his second season with the Forward team after racing in MotoE with the Tech3 team in the 2022 season, and Xavi Artigas, a Moto2 rookie. In MotoE, one of the two riders will be Andrea Mantovani, winner of two races in the last championship, while the second rider will be Maria Herrera, in her sixth season in MotoE.

This is the background, now let's see the conditions that brought together the path of Ramon Forcada, a technician famous for having supported riders such as Jorge Lorenzo, Franco Morbidelli and Andrea Dovizioso in MotoGP, with that of the Forward Racing team in MotoE. The crossroads has its roots in 2023, the year in which Forcada was the Team Manager of the RNF MotoE team. According to what MisterHelmet reported in the video that you find at the end of the post, among the various debts of the RNF team, there were also some towards Forcada, which is why, at the end of the season, the Spanish kept the entire MotoE team material, excluding motorbikes, which are of Ducati. Taking over the RNF MotoE team, the Forward team didn't just have the grid slots and two Ducati V21L but also the possibility of hiring the team's former technical manager and the material in his hands, including spare parts and data for 2023.

The advantage of having one of the most successful MotoGP technicians in the garage will not be limited only to MotoE but also to Moto2, where Forcada will probably be a valid support in the development of the bike designed by Forward Racing. On race weekends, the MotoE is on track on Friday for the practices and qualifying, and on Saturday for the two races; it is not difficult to imagine that Forcada on Sunday, free from other commitments, will be roaming among the Moto2 bikes in the Forward Racing garage.

Below, you find MisterHelmet's complete video on Ramon Forcada's arrival in Forward Racing.
