Eric Granado won Race 2 of the Italian GP, with a superlative performance after more than a month of injury stop. On the other hand, a poor result for his teammate, Miquel Pons, who collects 7 points in the two races at Mugello.

First victory of the season for Granado in the Italian GP at Mugello. Races are always unpredictable and on Saturday, in the rain and in extreme conditions, Eric Granado completed an incredible and intelligent race that brought him his first victory with the Ducati V21L, the MotoE 2023. Granado is the rider with the most victories in MotoE, but Saturday's was by no means an obvious success. The Brazilian rider was back from over a month's stop, in which he had to rest completely to recover from the cerebral contusion suffered in the WSBK race in Barcelona. The injury had forced Granado to miss the first two races of the MotoE at Le Mans, a hard blow for a rider who is openly aiming for victory in MotoE World Championship 2023.

These were Granado's words after the podium at Mugello: “I can't describe how much this victory means to me. The last month has been challenging and when I arrived at Mugello I didn't know what level I was at. This victory is a gratifying result. I would like to thank the team, my family, sponsors and everyone who supports me. Let's enjoy the moment!
The last month has been difficult but since Friday I had already felt good on the bike. We understood that we could do a good job at the Mugello weekend. I like the bike but I'm determined to make the most of these races to make up the gap in the standings."

A weekend of opposite mood for the Spaniard Miquel Pons, who obtained a tenth place in race one but crashed on the second lap of race 2, fortunately without consequences.
“In race 1 I felt good on the bike, and even if we didn't set up a perfect strategy, we made a comeback. In race 2, I was trying to recover positions and felt good on the bike, but unfortunately, I crashed. It was a shame because we had the pace to get a good result on a wet track. In any case, we'll try again at the Sachsenring”.
