Double podium of the Felo Gresini MotoE team at Mugello with Matteo Ferrari, who conquers important points and rises to second place in the standings.

In Race 1 of MotoE of the Italian GP, Matteo Ferrari took second place on a dry track, while in Race 2, under heavy rain, he managed to get on the third step of the podium. The rider from Rimini brings home important points for the championship, where he is now in second place, just two points behind the leader of the MotoE, Jordi Torres.
A difficult Saturday for Alessio Finello, who struggled in the first laps in Race 1 and finished fourteenth. There is a lot of desire for redemption in Race 2 and despite the rain, the rider from Turin got close to the Top10 before crashing at the end of the race. Now the MotoE and the Gresini team move to the Sachsenring, for two more races on 17 June.

“The home race is always very exciting; I would have preferred to win at least one encounter but today we achieved the best we could, especially in race two, as the conditions were very difficult and we don’t have enough information in the wet with this bike, despite the tests we had at Jerez – which went really well. We still have a couple more important events this month, so we must do well and think about the championship run”.

“An unfortunate Saturday: in Race 1 I made some mistakes in the first two laps, the pace afterwards was not bad but I had lot quite a lot of ground and finished with a disappointing fourteenth, as I knew our potential could have enabled us to finish higher. I was eager to make amends in Race 2, it was raining and I kind of like to race in wet conditions, I could have done well: conditions were quite tough though, I tried my best and reached the Top 10, then I tried to push more to battle with Zaccone and crashed. My weekend finished this way, but we take the positives and move on; we will try to step up our game in Germany!”
