Zaccone consolidates his first place in the standings at Le Mans

Alessandro Zaccone (Octo Pramac Racing)

After the wonderful victory in Jerez two weeks ago, Alessandro Zaccone was the author of another fantastic race in the French GP at Le Mans. Zaccone, who started from fifth on the grid, overtook everyone with an amazing maneuver on the outside in turn two that allowed him to take the lead at the exit of the first chicane. He then succeeded in the same fantastic maneuver on other occasions during the race.
Zaccone led the race for most of the time and only a perfect overtaking by Eric Granado at the last corner took away his second consecutive victory in MotoE.
At the inlet of the last corner Zaccone tries to protect the trajectory but Granado is faster and enters first at the turn 13. The Italian riders tries a crossing-line manouver at the last corner, he enters in front of Granado but he is then forced to go wide, leaving the space to the Brazilian rider to pass inside and rush to the finish line to seize the first win of the season in MotoE. In the fight for the victory, Zaccone touches the green zone outside the track which is sanctioned with a position in the final standings.
In the overall standings Alessandro Zaccone leads with 41 points ahead of Mattia Casadei and Dominique Aegerter both at 33. Next round on June 6th in Barcelona.

Alessandro Zaccone
“Incredible race, great fight and more than half the race on the lead. Too bad last corner where in the fight for the victory I lost the rear thus losing the first position. In order not to fall I also touched the green and for this reason they demoted me one more position, but despite this, super positive weekend and we are going home even more at the top of the championship! Thanks team! "
