The Openbank Aspar MotoE presents the team, the riders, the sponsors and the brand new Ducati MotoE for the 2023 season. Maria Herrera and Jordi Torres have unveiled the colours of the Ducati V21L with which they will take part in the 2023 MotoE World Championship.

The Openbank Aspar Team opens 2023 by presenting the new Ducati V21L for the MotoE World Championship, a category in which the team aims for the title with the two-time champion Jordi Torres and with María Herrera. This year the championship includes 16 races, on eight European circuits: the first round is scheduled for Le Mans, in May, the last one at Misano, in September.
In the fifth season of MotoE, the Openbank Aspar Team takes onboard the double champion of the category, Jordi Torres, who thus re-joins Jorge Martínez "Aspar" after almost a decade. For the Catalan champion, two victories, eight podiums, and two MotoE titles sum up his career in the MotoGP electric category.

Torres arrives in 2023 to reinforce a team that once again includes María Herrera. The Spanish rider is a veteran of the category; together with Ferrari, Granado and Casadei, María Herrera is the only rider to have participated in all the races of the MotoE from 2019 onwards.
In the box, the two riders will find Nico Terol as the team technical director. Terol has direct experience in MotoE, having participated as a rider in the debut season right alongside María Herrera.
The MotoE World Championship will kick off on the weekend of May 14 in France and will take place on eight iconic European circuits: Le Mans, Mugello, Sachsenring, Assen, Silverstone, Red Bull Ring, Barcelona and Misano.

Statements from Openbank Aspar MotoE Team members

Patricia Benito (CEO of Openbank)
“We are excited to see the Openbank Aspar Team grow. We are certain that the new tandem formed by Jordi and Maria will make the team the winning combination of the season”.

Jorge Martínez Aspar (CEO of the Openbank Aspar Team)
“This 2023 begins with a new challenge in the MotoE World Championship. We are sure that, hand in hand with Openbank, we can reach the top step of the podium. We still have María Herrera on the team, and we welcome Jordi Torres, double champion of the MotoE and great friend of the team. Together we hope to be successful in this season, which will start next week with the Jerez test."

Maria Herrera (Openbank Aspar MotoE Team)
“I am very happy to continue with the Openbank Aspar team in a season of many changes, with the added motivation of Ducati's arrival in the MotoE World Championship. It will be a learning year for everyone, but I'm sure this change will be good for me. I can't wait to start working with the team in Jerez to see how this prototype performs on track. We are proud to continue to have the support of Openbank, in which we hope to repay the trust with good results".

Jordi Torres (Openbank Aspar MotoE Team)
“I can't wait to get started, I'm very motivated. The change of bike will be an unknown factor, because Ducati has taken a step forward in terms of technology and the possibility of working on set-up. We will have to make good decisions to always choose the right path. This means having everything clear and making sure changes, because the season is short. We have to understand the bike well and be effective in working with it, expect more from it and take it to the top. It's a joy to be part of a team that has helped me a lot to grow as a rider."
