Jordi Torres takes the pole position in the 2023 MotoE German GP. At Sachsenring, the Spaniard precedes Hector Garzò and Eric Granado. This is Torres' first pole position with the Ducati V21L.
Jordi Torres takes the pole of the MotoE in the German GP – This weekend, on the German Sachsenring circuit, the third MotoE round of the 2023 season will take place, the first with World Championship status and with the new V21L electric Ducati.
At the end of Q1 the fastest riders were Nicholas Spinelli (HP Pons Racing 40) and Hikari Okubo (Tech3 E-Racing), after a succession of fast laps by them, Kevin Manfredi and Miquel Pons. Both then proceeded to Q2 after recharging their bikes' batteries and fitting a new front tyre.

The results of Q2 and the starting grid of the MotoE German GP
The riders of the MotoE were able to tackle Q2 in wet track conditions due to the rain that fell before qualifying. The riders who first took the lead were Spinelli and Okubo, thanks to the laps done on the wet track in Q1. Soon after, however, Torres, Garzò and Granado began to record faster and faster laps, also thanks to the track, which dried out lap after lap.
The provisional pole position changed with each lap, with Torres, Granado, Garzò and Spinelli taking the leadership at each lap.
In the end it was Torres who set the fastest time, beating Garzò and Granado in extremis. Spinelli, with an excellent last lap, conquered the fourth position and the box of best rookie of the day. The other two riders on the second row are Hikari Okubo and Mattia Casadei. Matteo Ferrari will start from the third row in both races.
The leader of the standings, Jordi Torres thus obtained his first pole position of 2023.
