Last year, at EICMA, Honda presented the EM1e, its first electric scooter intended for the European market. Now the EM1e is ready to arrive in Italian dealerships at the price of 3.199 euros.

Honda presented the EM2022e at Eicma 1, the first Honda electric scooter intended for the European market, and the first model of the electric range announced by Honda which foresees the introduction of over 10 new electric models globally by 2025. EM1e is Honda's first significant step towards achieving the goal of carbon neutrality for its entire range of motorcycles and scooters by the 2040-2050 decade. After arriving in the garage of the Honda HRC Repsol team in MotoGP, the EM1e is now ready for marketing and from November it will be available in Italian dealerships at the price of 3.199 euros.
"EM" stands for Electric Moped, and has as its target audience the younger public looking for an eco-sustainable, easy and fun way of moving in the urban context. The EM1e is equivalent to a 50cc and is designed for the city and to make home-work or home-school journeys efficient, silent and zero emissions to meet customer expectations in terms of eco-sustainable urban mobility.

The new EM1e is powered by the Honda Mobile Power Pack removable battery system designed with a focus on durability, reliability and quality. A single charge offers a range of 41.3 km while the maximum speed is that of the L1e category, 45 km/h. As its name suggests, the Mobile Power Pack is an interchangeable battery weighing 10,2 kg that can be removed and recharged at home or in the office in two and a half hours, and then repositioned on the scooter. The charger is supplied with the scooter.
The wheel hub motor has a nominal power of 0,58 kW with a peak of 1,7 kW. In ECON mode, the power is set to 0,86 kW. The EM1e can tackle a 10° difference in altitude with a weight of 75 kg on board. ECON mode softens throttle response and reduces top speed, extending the range to approximately 48,0 km.

The brakes – 190mm single-piston caliper disc at the front and 110mm drum at the rear – are linked by the Combined Braking System (CBS) for easy stopping control. By activating the rear brake, the CBS distributes braking power to the front caliper.
The EM1e has a length of just 1.860mm and a seat height of 740mm. The height from the ground is 135 mm and the weight is 95 kg, including battery. The tires measure 90/90-12” at the front and 100/90-10” at the rear.
The selling price of 3.199 euros includes maintenance for the first 3 years, but not the battery, which must be rented separately for a fee of 36 euros per month, for a maximum of 36 months. This formula is designed to keep the purchase price low and to guarantee customers a battery that is always efficient, without deterioration problems during the life of the vehicle. Customers will not have to worry about the continued performance of the Honda Mobile Power Pack or its final disposal.
The colors available are: Pearl Sunbeam White, Digital Silver Metallic and Matte Ballistic Black Metallic.
