From Friday 11th April to Sunday, the teams and drivers of the MotoE World Championship 2025 have carried out three days of pre-season testing on the Barcelona circuit. They have tried many new features: the Ducati Modified V21L, new tires and new charging systems.

The 11 season of the Formula 2025 team officially began on Friday XNUMX April with tests in Barcelona. MotoE, the seventh since its debut in 2019. The pre-season tests of the MotoGP electric class were hosted at the Circuit de Barcelona. Over the course of three days, the teams competing in the world championship MotoE They had ten sessions of 15 minutes each at their disposal, as well as a qualifying session and a race simulation.
In the race simulation that took place on Saturday, the victory was taken by Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini MotoE), ahead of Mattia Casadei (LCR E-Team). The winner of the MotoE 2019, Matteo Ferrari, beat his compatriot by 0,192s, while Eric Granado (LCR E-Team) completed the podium. Oscar Gutierrez and Andrea Mantovani completed the race Top 5.
The last three free practice sessions took place on Sunday, as well as a qualifying session. Alessandro Zaccone was the fastest in the latter, taking virtual pole position.
The best combined time of the three days of testing was recorded by Matteo Ferrari in 1:47.365. The Gresini team rider did 11 thousandths better than Mattia Casadei, leader in the timesheets of the first two days. Ferrari thus leaves Barcelona with the victory in the race simulation and with the best lap time; not bad for the Italian rider who aims to redeem a lacklustre 2024 and wants to return to the forefront in MotoE.
In the three days in Barcelona, Mattia Casadei stood out, first in most of the sessions, and his teammate Eric Granado. Alessandro Zaccone and Oscar Gutierrez were also almost constantly in the Top5 of the various sessions on the track in Barcelona.
Excellent tests in crescendo for Lorenzo Baldassarri, ninth in the race simulation and sixth in the qualifying simulation. At the end of the three days, the Intact GP team rider was the best 2025 rookie in MotoE.
The reigning champion, Hector Garzò, is missing from the timesheets, having fallen in the first session. Garzò suffered a significant bone edema in his left wrist and was unable to take part in the subsequent sessions. For the Intact GP team rider, this is a hard blow, given the importance of the tests in MotoE. Garzò will be able to take part in the single day of testing on May 8, on the eve of the first GP of 2025, in France,
Below are the combined and race simulation results.
