MotoE finally returns to the track to start the 2025 season. This weekend, the riders of the electric MotoGP category are busy at Le Mans, for the 2025 French GP. In the first race, Oscar Gutierrez crossed the finish line first, ahead of Andrea Mantovani and Alessandro Zaccone, who took pole position. Scary accident for Eric Granado.
Oscar Gutierrez wins race 1 of the French GP MotoE 2025 – This weekend, in Le Mans, the MotoE French GP took place for the first round of the 2025 MotoGP electric category. Starting from pole position in the first race of the season was Alessandro Zaccone, with his fourth career pole and the first with the new Aruba Cloud MotoE team.
At the start of race 1, however, Oscar Gutierrez took the lead from third on the grid, followed by Eric Granado and Zaccone. Lorenzo Baldassarri also had an excellent start, moving up to fifth at the first chicane, behind Andrea Mantovani.
When the riders reach the second chicane of the Le Mans circuit, Eric Granado crashes, losing grip entering the first corner. The slide does not cause any problems for the Brazilian rider who gets up to exit the track but was hit by the bike of Raffale Fusco who had crashed a few seconds after him. The race was stopped to allow the LCR team rider to be treated, who was subsequently taken to the medical center.
In the accident, Granado suffered a fracture to his right tibia and will undergo surgery in the coming days.

The race, interrupted after the second of the eight scheduled laps, restarted ten minutes later but was shortened to just four laps.
At the start, Gutierrez once again took the lead, ahead of Mantovani, Zaccone, Zannoni and Baldassarri. Behind the top five, Ferrari, Torres and Casadei fought for sixth place, until Ferrari lost the front and slid, leaving the track clear for the two contenders. The Gresini team rider was thus forced to retire. Behind them, in the meantime, Maria Herrera passed Nicholas Spinelli for ninth place.
In the penultimate lap, Mantovani set the fastest lap of the race, attempting to close in on the race leader to attempt an attack, but Gutierrez contained the recovery of the Forward team driver and passed under the checkered flag first.
It was a great performance for the MSi Racing driver, following on from his third place in the championship in 2024. Mantovani finished the race in second place, taking an important podium after last year's lacklustre performances. Third was Zaccone, who took his first podium finish in the MotoE the Aruba Cloud team.
Kevin Zannoni finished the first race in fourth place, ahead of Casadei who on the last lap managed to overtake Baldassarri, sixth in the debut race of the MotoGP electric championship.
Torres, Herrera, Spinelli and Finello completed the Top 10.
We remind you that the reigning champion, Hector Garzò, did not take part in the race due to the injury sustained in the fall on Friday morning.
Race 16 starts at 10:2 pm.
