The Avant Ajo MotoE rider begins the second part of the 2021 season of the FIM MotoE World Cup with the fifth round at the Red Bull Ring

After a long summer break, Hikari Okubo and the Avant Ajo MotoE team are back on track this week for the fifth round of the MotoE World Cup 2021. After two years, the Red Bull Ring will again host the MotoE for the Austrian Grand Prix.
In the first part of the season, Okubo showed great progress and a good adaptation to electric motorcycle racing in his debut year. At the last round of the MotoE at Assen, the Japanese showed his potential in the race riding alongside the leading group, finishing eighth. Now the Avant Ajo MotoE rider arrives in Austria with the intention of making the most of everything he has learned in previous races to get a place among the first.
Okubo currently is tenth in the overall standings with 24 points.

Hikari Okubo
“I really enjoyed the summer in Japan. I took advantage of my time there to get on the bike and complete various tests, which served as training for me. It was a good way to stay active and it allowed me to try different riding styles, something that will help me when I get back on the MotoE.
I have never been to the Red Bull Ring in Austria, but I have played through the track in videogames to help me memorise the layout. My goal is to be as close to the top positions as possible, as we had good performances at the last few races. I will do my best to achieve this.”
