MotoE World Cup 2021: here is the preliminary calendar

The provisional calendar of the MotoE World Cup 2021 was released today by the FIM: 7 races on 6 circuits. The competition program returns to its original setting before the Covid-19 pandemic revolutionized the 2020 season. The Red Bull Ring in Spielberg and Assen are therefore back on the calendar. The main novelty is the Barcelona track, with its long straight to test the performance of the batteries of the MotoE. The closing round is in Misano with a double race.

The first five events will include three free practice sessions, the E-Pole session and a race on Sunday morning at 10:05, while the last round will once again be double. The season will start at the Circuit de Jerez-Angel Nieto as in 2020, followed by the French Grand Prix at Le Mans for the second round. From there, the MotoE will visit two new circuits.

The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will be the first; a classic for MotoGP and a new challenge for MotoE. The fourth stage will be in the Netherlands, on the prestigious TT Circuit Assen. The historic “Cathedral” is famous for its tight competitions and will prove to be an exciting event for MotoE. The MotoGP electric class will be for the first time in the Netherlands, a country where electric mobility is growing significantly.

The penultimate round of the season will then see the return of the MotoE at the Red Bull Ring, another fast track very critical for the brakes of theEnergica Ego Corsa (here Alex De Angelis explains how to ride the MotoE at the Red Bull Ring). Finally, Misano will host the season finale. The Marco Simoncelli World Circuit is familiar ground for MotoE and will see two races to find out who will be the champion of the MotoE 2021.
