The provisional 2025 FIM MotoE World Championship calendar was made official today. Next year, the MotoGP electric world championship will be held over 14 races on 7 European circuits. Starting in May at Le Mans and concluding in Portimao in November. Among the new additions to the calendar is the Hungarian GP.
The provisional calendar of the 2025 FIM MotoE World Championship has been published. The seventh season of the MotoE, the third with the Ducati V21L, will be held over seven rounds and fourteen races, sharing the stage of most of the European dates of the MotoGP World Championship calendar. For 2025, the races will drop from sixteen to fourteen and there will be not some traditional stages of the MotoE. The Italian GP at Mugello and the German GP at Sachsenring will be missing, as well as Jerez, which has been replaced by the Barcelona circuit as the Spanish stage again this year. Among the new features is the Hungarian GP, on the new Balaton Park circuit. Hungary will become the ninth European country to host a MotoE race.
For the second time, the final round of the MotoGP electric championship will not be in Misano. In 2020, the championship ended in Le Mans while in 2025 it will end in Portimao.
The season will be preceded by two tests: the first in Barcelona, from 11 to 13 April, and the second in Le Mans, on 8 May, one day before the official start of the championship.
In choosing the venues for the 2025 calendar, Dorna says the selection was made based on the maximum percentage of renewable energy that the circuits can provide from their facilities. This is with the aim of contributing to the MotoGP championship's emissions reduction objectives as a whole and promoting electric innovation where it is most promising.
