MotoE - In the Spanish GP the LCR E-Team started the MotoE World Cup 2022 in an impressive way. After winning Race 1 on Saturday, Eric Granado was again on the top of the podium on Sunday, this time with team-mate Miquel Pons. LCR E-Team is thus becoming the first team of the MotoE to achieve a one-two in the same race.
MotoE - In the Spanish GP the LCR E-Team rider, Eric Granado, wins race 2 after passing his teammate Miquel Pons in the last lap at the Circuit de Jerez-Angel Nieto. The Spaniard started from the pole position he won on Friday while Granado started from fourth on the grid.
Pons fought throughout the race with Aegerter for the first position while Granado, sixth in the first lap, recovered quickly and was behind the first two for a long time to study them.
The last lap was the moment for Granado to launch the final attack on his teammate: the Brazilian came out very quickly from turn 5 and on the following straight he overtook Pons under braking. Granado closed the corner perfectly preventing Pons from crossing trajectories before the next corner. At that point the rider number 51 pushed hard in the following corners and reached the braking point of the last corner with a sufficient advantage to be safe from possible attacks by his pursuers.
Thanks to the extraordinary weekend in the Spanish GP, the LCR E-Team leaves Jerez with Eric Granado on the top of the standings at full points (50 points). Miquel Pons is third in the standings with 28 points.
The next round of the MotoE World Cup is in two weeks on the French track of Le Mans for the French GP.

“I’m very very happy, it’s a dream start of the season! We did an amazing job this weekend. Today for me was a bit more difficult than yesterday, the conditions were more tricky and the track was really hot. I didn’t do a good start and I lost some positions. Miquel (Pons) and Domi (Aegerter) were fighting during the last three laps and it was difficult for me to find a gap, but finally I saw the opportunity in the last lap and I was able to overtake them. It is amazing to win the second race of the weekend and the season! It is just the beginning but it’s a great start. It gives us a boost of energy to continue in this way. I want to thank my team and also congratulate Miquel for his second place: being both on the podium means the Team is doing a great job!"
