The riders of the MotoE World Cup arrive at the San Marino GP, the last round of the MotoE 2022, after having already done ten races in the five rounds that took place in Jerez, Le Mans, Mugello, Assen and Spielberg. Dominique Aegerter leads the standings ahead of Eric Granado and Matteo Ferrari. The last two races of 2022 are scheduled for the weekend, at the Misano circuit.
For the fifth time in its history, the MotoE World Cup arrives at the Misano World Circuit for the San Marino Grand Prix. After five rounds, the leader of the MotoE 2022 is Dominique Aegerter ahead of Eric Granado and Matteo Ferrari. The Swiss rider, with three victories so far, has collected 194 points, 17,5 more than the Brazilian rider in second position who scored a double victory in Austria, bringing the number of seasonal victories to five. At the Red Bull Ring, Granado recovered 14 points on the Swiss rider. The two are the only ones left to contend for the title of MotoE 2022, while Ferrari, Casadei and Pons are now mathematically excluded from the race for victory.
The San Marino GP represents the second match point for Dominique Aegerter to win the 2022 title. To win the MotoE World Cup at the end of race 1, on Saturday, Aegerter should have more than 25 points ahead of Eric Granado at the finish line; a difficult but not impossible result for the Swiss rider who should gain 8 points more than Granado. Otherwise, the fight will remain open and the title of winner of the MotoE 2022 would be awarded in the last race, on Sunday.
Other challenges include the one between Matteo Ferrari, Miquel Pons and Mattia Casadei for third place in the overall standings, and the one between Alex Escrig, Kevin Manfredi and Marc Alcoba for the title of best rookie of 2022.
This is the progression of the two top riders of the MotoE 2022 on the eve of the San Marino GP.
