MotoE 2022 - The championship standings on the eve of the Austrian GP

MotoE 2022 - The riders of the MotoE World Cup arrive at the Austrian GP after having already disputed eight races in the four rounds that took place in Jerez, Le Mans, Mugello and Assen. Dominique Aegerter leads the standings ahead of Eric Granado and Matteo Ferrari. Two more races are scheduled for the weekend at the Red Bull Ring circuit.

MotoE 2022 - For the third time in its history, the MotoE World Cup arrives at the Red Bull Ring for the Austrian Grand Prix. After four rounds, the leader of the MotoE is Dominique Aegerter ahead of Eric Granado and Matteo Ferrari. The Swiss rider, with three victories, four second places and a fourth position achieved so far, has collected 158 points, 31,5 more than the Brazilian rider in second position and 45,5 more than Matteo Ferrari. Granado had dominated the Spanish GP by winning both races but in France he was unable to go beyond fifth position while in Italy he conquered a podium in the two races at Mugello. Granado then returned to victory in race 2 in Assen after the podium in race 1.
Matteo Ferrari reached the third place in the standings, thanks to the great Italian weekend where he obtained his first victory of the season (the sixth in his career) in the MotoGP electric class, but at Assen he was unable to go beyond two fourth places. Behind him in the standings we find Mattia Casadei, who in Assen collected two third positions, followed by Miquel Pons who returns after recovering from the accident he had in race 2 at Assen.
The Austrian GP represents the first match point for Dominique Aegerter to win the 2022 title. To win the MotoE World Cup, Aegerter should have more than 50 points ahead of second in the standings at the end of the Austrian round; a difficult but not impossible result for the Swiss rider.
Among other challenges there is the one between Alex Escrig, Marc Alcoba and Kevin Manfredi for the title of best rookie of 2022; the three are respectively in tenth, eleventh and twelfth position in the overall classification and are enclosed in 4,5 points.

This is the progression of the riders in the Top 5 in the standings of the MotoE 2022 on the eve of the Austrian GP.
