On the Misano track, Mattia Casadei took the pole position of the San Marino GP ahead of his teammate, Eric Granado, and Jordi Torres. For the LCR team rider, this is the first pole position of the season and the second in MotoE in Misano. Eighth, Hector Garzò, the championship leader.

At Misano, Mattia Casadei (LCR E-Team) takes his first pole position of the season to try to come back on Hector Garzò (Dynavolt Intact GP), the championship leader. Garzò leads the current standings of the MotoE with a 38-point advantage over Casadei. The Valencian rider needs thirteen points in two races to become the champion of the MotoE 2024. This did not discourage Casadei on this first day on the track at Misano. The San Marino GP is the last of the season and Casadei must play everything he has for an almost impossible recovery. If the first session of the day was very positive for the Italian rider, who set the best time, the same cannot be said for the second. At turn 6, Casadei was the author of a violent high-side with his Ducati V21L. The crash damaged the front frame of the bike, the frame element that connects the battery casing to the front fork. The mechanics of the LCR team preferred to take one of the five spare bikes made available by Ducati instead of using precious time to repair the crashed motorcycle.

The choice was a winning one because Casadei achieved the best time in the qualifying session, taking pole position for the San Marino GP. The home rider will be able to start from the front row in the two races on Saturday to dream of a comeback on Hector Garzò.
Alongside Casadei, in the front row, will be his teammate, Eric Granado, while in third position we find Jordi Torres (Openbank Aspar Team).
For his part, Garzò decided not to take unnecessary risks and to observe what his opponents were doing. The Intact GP team rider had to face Q1 but had no problems in obtaining the best time, with more than three tenths on Nicholas Spinelli (Tech3 E-Racing).
In Q2, Garzò did not go beyond the eighth time, behind Spinelli and ahead of his teammate, Lukas Tulovic. The other two riders still mathematically in the fight for the championship, Kevin Zannoni (Openbank Aspar Team) and Oscar Gutierrez (Axxis MSi), are fifth and sixth respectively, while Alessandro Zaccone (Tech3 E-Racing) is fourth.
