Matteo Ferrari finishes the 2020 MotoE season with a proud reaction in the second race at Le Mans, the last of the season. The rider from Rimini had a great comeback (from 15th to 5th) which allowed him to maintain the second position in the world standings behind Jordi Torres.
The target on the eve of the French round was very different, but Saturday's crash was fatal for the hopes of the Trentino Gresini MotoE Team rider to keep the title of champion of the category. With the good race on Sunday, Ferrari ends its championship with 97 points, the same as Aegerter, but achieves the second overall position thanks to the best results over the season.
Difficult round for Alessandro Zaccone; unfortunately, the Gresini rider did not find the right pace and, in addition, in both races, he lost time from the leading group due to the crashes of other riders at the first chicane. For him 37 points and the 12th final position in the general standings in his first year in the class.

"Happy to have finished as running-up: I have to be honest, with two zeros this year it is surprising to be second in the world championship and I want to thank the team for everything they did for me both with the bike and with the morale that yesterday was very very low… However, it's an improvement in experience, it was a good comeback race and now we look to the future”.

“Another disastrous race. I found myself in the middle of the chaos at the first corner again and also the feeling with the bike was not the best. It was an experience, unfortunately I never really adapted to this bike. In any case, I have to thank Fausto and the whole team for the chance they gave me and I am very sorry not to have been able to demonstrate my real potential”.
