The Join Contract Pons 40 team will face its second season in the MotoE World Cup with the Spanish rider Jordi Torres.

After a good first season with Sete Gibernau, the Sito Pons team choses Torres as a rider for the 2020. The 2-year-old Spanish rider will take part in both the MotoE World Cup and to the World SBK. Torres won races in two categories of the World Championship, in Moto4 and WSBK, climbing four times on the podium in Moto2 and five in WSBK, for a total of 5 points and got a fifth place in the general standings as best result. Here the statements of Torres and Pons.

Jordi Torres
“Being part of this great project and in this category where what is expected as the technology of the future is used as a propulsion is a pride and a satisfaction. I think it comes at a point in my career where I feel quite mature and more prepared than ever, I really want to and I feel thrilled to start this new adventure. To do it with a team like Sito Pons, which is one of the most leading in the world championship, both for its past and present achievements, is almost a dream come true. I want to thank Sito for this opportunity and for my part I will give everything I have to offer a great show. I know that I will have all the tools to fight for the maximum and I hope to live up to this challenge. Everything will be new and I'm sure that it will be very electrifying. I will have to adapt as quickly as possible and be able to do my best. I want to do it well and surely it will bring me a lot in my sport s career. Being able to be part of the evolution of these motorcycles is an honor and I already want to meet the team, get on the bike and start working to give 100%."

"I am pleased to announce the incorporation of Jordi Torres to the Join Contract Pons 40 team, in MotoE. After a first year that has helped us to understand the motorcycle and the Championship, in which everything was new, with Jordi we opened a new stage and faced the challenge of fighting to win the MotoE World Cup. As a rider, he has successfully rode the Moto2 World Championship and the World SBK, being able to win in both categories, and that gives him a degree of maturity, experience and speed needed to try to fight to be MotoE World Champion. The team, together with our partners, will give him the necessary tools so that we can fight for it. Welcome to the team Jordi and thanks to our partners who trust once again in our project. Together an exciting season awaits us, and I am sure it is full of success."
