Great race for the Pons Racing 40 MotoE team and Jordi Torres, second in the Andalusian Grand Prix at the Jerez - Ángel Nieto circuit.
After finishing fifth in qualifying, Jordi Torres was in the leading group for the whole race fighting for the first place. The rider of the Pons Racing 40 team was very determined in all his actions but he also tried to avoid any crash. In the end he crossed the finish line in second position, getting his first podium and also the first for the team in MotoE, being at the same time the first Spanish rider to get on the podium in this category.
With this result, Torres is second in the standings with 30 points; the next race will be at the Misano circuit on 13 September.
“Today we are happy, we have achieved the first podium of the season. The race has been quite intense, with several overtaking at the limit and you have to know how to read all the situations and be in the right place, since it is easy to crash. I have calmed down and I've been in the front group the whole race. I've made fast laps during the race, we are able to be there already and I'm very happy with this second position. Looking forward to Misano in September".
