Dynavolt Intact GP rider Dominique Aegerter finished second overall in the first official MotoE test of the season, which took place from March 2 to 4 in Jerez de la Frontera, Andalusia.

After a break of more than four and a half months, the first three days of intensive testing ended with a strong overall performance for the Dynavolt Intact GP team. The agenda included testing a new front fork and two new rear tyres, which turned out to be very positive. Another brand-new feature was a mobile cooling box filled with dry ice, which can be used directly in pit lane to accelerate the cooling of the engine and battery.
Dominique Aegerter finished each of the eight sessions always in the Top 3, and was faster than the circuit record in the first session of the third day with his 1:47.583.
Aegerter, who would have preferred to already compete in the first Grand Prix, but will have to wait until 2 May. Before the seven races of the 2021 season, the preparation phase includes a final test on the same track in Jerez, from April 12th to 14th.

“We started the test very well after the winter break and we can be more than satisfied with the placements. I'm super happy to be back on the racetrack with my Intact team. I adapted quickly and was able to improve steadily over the sessions. The bike has a new front fork and we received two new rear tyres to test. The last day went a little differently than planned. This morning we rode on new tyres that turned out to be pretty good. They allowed me to set faster times than last year. At the end of the day, we finished second closely behind the lead. Nevertheless, we were very strong throughout the three days and always ended up in the Top 3 which is very important. In the last session, we used the time to test a few more things. We set great lap times again and so I finished this final session in first with a strong lead. In general, it was three positive days for us. The team did a great job. First and foremost, I would like to thank my crew, the sponsors, MotoGP and Energica as well as the racetrack promoters in Jerez, who made it possible for us to test here despite this persistently difficult time. I am really happy that we can still do our job despite everything that is going on. I am looking forward to returning here to Jerez in April for another test. Let's see what's new by then and where we can still improve. We are on a good way. In May the first race will take place, for which I would have already felt ready today”.
