The teams and riders of the MotoE World Championship 2024 are in Portimao for the first time for three days of a pre-season test. After the first two days, the riders with the best times are Hector Garzò, Nicholas Spinelli and Matteo Ferrari. Behind them Alessandro Zaccone and Eric Granado. The tests will end on Friday.

Second day of the 2024 MotoE test at the Autodromo do Algarve in Portimao. From Wednesday, 21st, to Friday, 23rd February, the teams competing in the MotoE World Championship have four sessions of 15 minutes each available each day, for a total of around 120 laps overall over the three days of testing.
On the first day, the fastest rider was Nicholas Spinelli (Tech3 E-Racing), winner of the last race of 2023 in Misano and who joined the Tech3 team this year. Today, however, on the second day of the test, Hector Garzò (Dynavolt IntactGP) lowered Spinelli's time by 7 tenths, stopping the chrono at 1:46.916 in the first-morning session. Spinelli also improved, setting the lap time of 1:47.036. Third Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini MotoE), just over a tenth of Garzò's time. Alessandro Zaccone (Tech3 E-Racing) and Eric Granado (LCR E-Team) complete the Top 5 of combined times at the end of the day.
In the last session of the day which took place under the rain, the fastest rider was Nicholas Spinelli, ahead of Eric Granado and Mattia Casadei (LCR E-Team).

Good, up to this point, the performance of Lukas Tulovic (Dynavolt IntactGP), sixth; the German rider is having his first experience with the Ducati V21L, but has already raced two seasons in MotoE, in 2020 and 2021, winning the 2021 Austrian GP, before moving up to Moto2. The best rookie at the moment is the Spaniard Oscar Gutierrez (Axxis-MSi), seventh in the combined time standings. The Axxis-MSi team rider has already had the opportunity to race with the Ducati V21L, last year, at the Red Bull Ring and in Barcelona, replacing the injured Luca Salvadori.
Ninth and eleventh place instead for Jordi Torres (Openbank Aspar Team), two-time winner of the MotoE title, and Mattia Casadei, champion of the 2023 season. For the two sure protagonists of the MotoE 2024, the gap from Garzò is between six and seven tenths.
The riders tried the new Michelin tyres. At the moment, the details of these tyres are not yet known, and Michelin will officially present them during the PortugueseGP. What is certain is that these are tires with a high content of eco-sustainable materials, the values are 49% for the front and 53% for the rear. The rear tire is also characterized by a particular tread design which symbolizes Michelin's "all-sustainable" strategy and evokes the Vision tire presented by the French company in 2017.

If track conditions allow it, on the last day of the test, we will see the times drop even further, probably by another half-second. Also on Friday, the MotoE will share the track with Moto3 and Moto2; the sessions reserved for MotoE are: 9:30, 11:45, 14:00 and 16:15 local time.
