Hector Garzò wins race 2 of the Austrian GP MotoE 2024 at the Red Bull Ring. Hector Garzò leaves the Red Bull Ring firmly in command of the championship MotoE, thanks to the victory in Race 2 of the Austrian GP. The IntactGP team rider was the fastest at the start, taking the lead of the race, ahead of Oscar Gutierrez and Kevin Zannoni. For the entire first part of the race, Garzò and Gutierrez overtook each other at least twice on each lap, while Kevin Zannoni was patiently behind them. Behind the top three, the Top5 was completed by Jordi Torres and Mattia Casadei. The fight between Garzò and Gutierrez lasted until Zannoni went to attack Gutierrez. Thanks to the battle between the two, Garzò managed to gain a few tenths of advantage at the top of the race. The fight between the two pursuers lasted a couple of laps and was resolved to the advantage of Gutierrez, who, by forcing the pace, managed to get close to Garzò again to challenge him for the race victory.
Behind the first three, the battle between Torres and Casadei was excellent, with the Spaniard losing in top speed but stronger than the Italian in braking. The dispute between the two world champions of MotoE and former teammates ends with Casadei finally managing to overtake the Spaniard and get close to the top three.

Gutierrez must have liked the idea of the perfect weekend and the first double in MotoE, so he goes to attack Garzò, overtakes him and gains a few tenths of a second which puts him safe from any attacks from the IntactGP team rider. However, two corners from the finish line, the front tire loses grip and the Axxis-MSi team driver finds himself on the ground, while Garzò, Zannoni and Casadei slip past him and pass under the checkered flag. For Garzò it is the fourth victory of the season but, more importantly, his success brings him another 25 points in the standings which brings him very close to winning the world title.
With only two races to go, Hector Garzò has a 38 point lead over Mattia Casadei and 44 over Kevin Zannoni.
The next appointment on the track with the MotoE it is the San Marino GP, the final round of 2024, scheduled for 6 and 7 September.
