After his first experience in the MotoGP electric class in 2019, Héctor Garzò is back in MotoE with the Tech3 E-Racing team in 2022. The Valencian rider, fourth in 2019, joins the group of contenders for the title of the category.
Héctor Garzò will line up with the Tech3 E-Racing team for the second time in his career, after having already competed with the French team in the inaugural season of the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup in 2019. In his first season in the electric class, the Spanish rider had a very high performance on the bike of Energica and finished three times on the podium, fourth overall in the championship. Garzò could have won the title that year if he hadn't crashed on the last lap of the Red Bull Ring race when he was the race leader or if he hadn't been penalized in race 1 in Valencia for a technical problem with his bike.
The 23-year-old native of Valencia has had a special relationship with the French team in recent years. With Hervé Poncharal's team, Garzò raced in the CEV and made three Moto2 appearances in 2018: at Jerez, Le Mans and Mugello. In the last two seasons, Garzò has competed in the Moto2 World Championship with the Pons Racing team, obtaining a second place at the Valencia Grand Prix in 2020 as his best result. Garzò also played an important role in winning the first title of the MotoE by the Sito Pons team in 2020, giving important suggestions on the particular riding style of the MotoE to Jordi Torres who made his debut that year in the MotoGP electric class.
