The first victory in MotoE by Tulovic and the Tech3 E-Racing team

Lukas Tulovic (Tech3 E-Racing) at the Red Bull Ring

Lukas Tulovic started the fifth race in MotoE from the front row thanks to the second time obtained in the EPole on Saturday.
The race started with almost dry asphalt but damp in some zones; for this reason, the race was declared wet and the distance was reduced to five laps. All the riders lined up on the grid with dry tires.
Tulovic took command of the race from the first corner, overtaking Aldeguer, and immediately gained on the group of pursuers. At the end of the first lap, the German rider's advantage was 1,8 seconds. Despite the comeback attempted by the pursuers, Tulovic held out in the lead by winning his first ever race in MotoE.
For his part, Corentin Perolari was cautious on the track which was still drying. The French rookie managed to maintain a steady pace throughout the race by reaching the checkered flag in thirteenth position.

The overall standings

Lukas Tulovic
“It’s super difficult for me to find the correct words, as I have to thank so many people over all the years, that supported me; my family, my management, my trainer, my team, my sponsors, so just a huge thank you to everybody who believed in me. My last victory is just too long ago and it was definitely time to do it again. We have been really fast in the MotoE last year and also this year, but never got rewarded with a podium in the race. So, to make it here in Austria, in front of so many German fans, is such an amazing feeling! Thanks to everybody around the track, who was cheering for me, it was a fantastic race! It’s just the perfect weekend!"

Corentin Perolari
“The race was very difficult for me. My start was not ideal and the track was also pretty tough to ride in these conditions. Due to the rain, there have been still many patches on the tarmac and I was a bit too cautious during these important five laps. Above all I never really found a rhythm, so I have to admit, that I’m not happy with this result.”

“What a way to end the day and the weekend here in Spielberg, Austria with a great and beautiful win by Lukas Tulovic in the MotoE class! He missed pole position by a few thousands yesterday, but we knew the pace was going to be good enough for a podium. I think he was so determined on the grid, the track was still a little bit damp, but everybody went on slicks. I think he was the most confident rider, he put his head down and just showed the confidence he was having in himself in these track conditions with the Michelin tyres.
After the first lap leading by 1,8 seconds, we knew that without any mistake there was a great possibility to win that race and this is what he did.

Lukas Tulovic wins the first race in MotoE in Austria

A few mistakes towards the end, that allowed the guys behind him to catch up a little bit, but he managed to keep his nerves, to stay calm and steady and got this great win, the first win for Tech3 E- team. Racing, the first win for Lukas. We are very happy with Lukas and very grateful to have him with us! This is a fantastic achievement.
Corentin did a steady race, ended up 13th. He didn’t want to take too many risks, but we are happy with what he did. It was the very first time for him here at the Red Bull Ring and with the track a bit damp on slicks it was not easy. Congratulations to Corentin, a great result for Lukas and thanks to the whole team! In the last round in Misano we need to shine again”.
