The fastest riders at the end of Q1 were Niccolò Canepa and rookie Alex Escrig who then moved to Q2 after recharging their bikes' battery and mounting a new rear tire.
In Q1 Canepa immediately set a very fast laptime that his rivals were unable to improve in the following laps. Behind him there was an excellent Escrig at his first experience with the MotoE. The second position in Q2 was very close with Tulovic and Zannoni who alternated behind Canepa several times. Zannoni had an excellent opportunity to qualify for Q2 on his final lap but a slow fourth sector prevented him from gaining the second position of the session.
Fall without consequences for the rookie Yeray Ruiz.

Mattia Casadei will start from the front row in the Spanish GP of MotoE

The results of Q2

At the end of Q2, Miquel Pons (LCR E-Team) was the fastest ahead of Hector Garzò (Tech3 E-Racing) and Mattia Casadei (Pons Racing 40) who will therefore start from the front row in both races of the Spanish GP . Eric Granado (LCR E-Team), Dominique Aegerter (Dynavolt Intact GP) and Matteo Ferrari (FELO Gresini MotoE) will start from the second row.
Miquel Pons managed to set the best time of the session in the first lap, while on the next lap he crashed at turn 8. Due to the yellow flag displayed to allow the marshalls to remove the damaged bike from the gravel, the best laptime by Eric Granado was canceled; it would have guaranteed him the pole position in the Spanga GP. In the following laps, the Brazilian rider was no longer able to improve, remaining fourth.
The two riders of the Pons Racing 40 team faced Q2 working together, with Casadei setting the third best time and Torres finishing in seventh place.
The best rookie was Alex Escrig (Tech3 E-Racing) with the final ninth time.

Here are the times of Q2:
