Ferrari takes the first pole in MotoE of the era Ducati

France GP of the MotoE: Matteo Ferrari takes the first pole position of the Ducati era at Le Mans. The Gresini team rider precedes Hector Garzò by 22 thousandths and Jordi Torres by 25 thousandths. This is the second career pole position for Ferrari.

To Ferrari the pole of the MotoE at Le Mans – This weekend, on the iconic French circuit of Le Mans, the first round of the 2023 season of the MotoE, the first with World Championship status and with the new V21L electric Ducati.
At the end of Q1 the fastest riders were Andrea Mantovani (RNF MotoE team) and Kevin Zannoni (Sic58 Squadra Corse). Both then proceeded to Q2 after recharging their bikes' batteries and fitting new tyres.

The results of Q2 and the starting grid of the MotoE in Le Mans

At the start of Q2, just as the riders of MotoE were entering the track, a few drops of rain started to fall from the clouds above the track. Luckily these weren't the first of many others and stopped falling almost immediately. The riders were thus able to tackle Q2 in almost dry track conditions.
In the first lap Jordi Torres was the fastest, with a time of 1:42.338 ahead of Randy Krummenacher and Kevin Manfredi. The raindrops do not wet the track so the riders of MotoE were able to push lap after lap.
Torres lowered his time by 1 second but Ferrari behind him did better setting a very fast lap in 1:40.971, three tenths better than Torres. Behind them, Garzò, Krummenacher, Manfredi and Spinelli alternated in the positions for the first two rows.

Last lap and last assault on pole position. Ferrari tried to improve but crashed on entry to the first chicane, leaving the track for Garzò and Torres. Halfway through the track, the two Spaniards were slightly ahead of the Italian rider but were unable to improve his time and ended qualifying in second and third position. Behind them was the rookie Krummenacher, ahead of Manfredi and Spinelli. In the top 10: Casadei, Zannoni, Pons and Mantovani.
This is Ferrari's second pole position in MotoE, the first with the Ducati V21L.
