Matteo Ferrari brings the first victory in the 2021 season of the MotoE World Cup to the new Indonesian E-Racing Gresini MotoE team. The Italian rider wins race 2 on the Misano circuit and achieves the final podium in the MotoGP electric class for the third consecutive year.
His team had asked him for a miracle in the home GP and Matteo Ferrari did not disappoint hopes, taking the first win of the season for Indonesian E-Racing Gresini MotoE exactly one year after the last one, right at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli”, the home track. A difficult race in which there was a bit of luck for the Italian rider, second on the finish line and then promoted to winner for the penalty of Aegerter.
The 25 points won in race 2 of the San Marino GP, together with those of the fourth place in race 1, are enough to conquer the third position in the general classification, overcoming the unfortunate Zaccone, Granado and Tulovic. Matteo Ferrari and the Gresini team are confirmed once again on the podium of the MotoE World Cup, after winning the 2019 title and the second position in 2020.
Andrea Mantovani improves again compared to race 1, finishing the last GP of the season in ninth position. For the rookie of the team, another seven points with which he confirms the fourteenth position in the overall standings.

“It was a very good race even if it was difficult at the beginning. Unfortunately, I can't be fast with the new tires, but this time we got off to a good start and there were no problems at Turn 1. From the middle of the race onwards we had the pace to stay ahead. It was tough because there was a lot of wind, but we did well. It has been a difficult season, with no podiums to date, in which this third place overall has a different flavor: it means we never gave up and I have to thank the team for always supporting me”.
