The ONE Energy Racing rider finishes the last 2021 race in fifth position and fourth in the overall standings, with two victories and a podium.
The Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncellli hosted the last race of the 2021 season of the MotoE World Cup, in which Eric Granado got fifth position in race 2 after crashing on the last lap in race 1. Granado kept the title fight alive until the last round but his result in the two races of the GP of San Marino did not allow him to finish the season beyond fourth place in the overall standings with 84 points. This was the Brazilian rider's third season in the MotoGP electric class, and his first with the ONE Energy Racing team.
The second race of the weekend was run over eight laps, the grid established by Saturday's qualifying session. Granado started from the front row in second position, but got off to a bad start and lost positions at the first corner. The ONE Energy Racing rider reorganized and pushed hard, trying to recover positions despite the leaders having already broken away. The Brazilian eventually finished fifth.
Johan Stigefelt - Team Director
“We came into this round with high expectations, as only seven points separated us from the leader with two races to go. Anything could have happened. However, the results didn't go in our favour at the last two races of 2021. Eric was very fast in the first race and wanted to get the victory, in order to face the second race of the weekend with a bigger advantage, but things did not turn out the way we wanted. His start today was not great, it was difficult for us to find pace, and we finally finished in fifth. It has been a good season, in which we have shown that both the team and Eric are very fast - with two wins and a podium. I want to thank Eric, all the staff and all of our sponsors for joining us in our third year in MotoE."

“This season we have had a lot of ups and downs. We have always been among the fastest, but luck has not been on our side throughout the year. However, the good thing is that I have always given one hundred percent. The team have done a great job and we deserved so much more. Yesterday I felt very good, and the bike worked very well. But after the crash it was not the same and today, we did the best we could. It's a bittersweet feeling at the end of the season, but now is the time to look to the future. I want to thank the team, partners, and all those who have worked so that this year I could be on the bike giving my all.”
