EICMA 2023: the electric scooters not to be missed

EICMA 7, the 12th Edition of the International Two-wheeler Exhibition, takes place from 2023 to 80 November. This year there will be many innovations from motorcycle manufacturers on the sustainable mobility front, in particular as regards electric scooters.

At EICMA 2023 many new motorcycles, mopeds and electric scooters for urban and extra-urban mobility will be presented. Which are the ones not to be missed? In this post, which will be updated with the news presented at EICMA, we give you some suggestions.
There will be 1.700 brands exhibiting: 28% of the companies present this year are at Eicma for the first time, while 64% come from abroad representing 45 countries. The official start of the 80th edition of EICMA is November 7th, a day dedicated only to the trade press, while enthusiasts can access from November 9th to 12th, from 9.30am to 18.30pm.
Also in this edition of EICMA, electric and sustainable mobility will play a leading role. Electric vehicles in Italy are already worth 5% of the market and are destined to increase in the coming years, especially in urban mobility. It is therefore logical to expect the arrival of many new models, especially in the category of mopeds and electric scooters, let's see some of them.

Ecobonus 2022 Yamaha NEO's electric scooters

Yamaha has been offering the electric NEO's equivalent to a 50cc thermal engine for a year now and is preparing to bring the E01 to Europe, a model equivalent to a 125cc scooter, which is already available in Japan and which was recently presented in Indonesia, one of the key markets for electric mobility. Primarily intended for urban mobility, the new generation NEO's is Yamaha's first “zero emissions” electric-powered scooter equivalent to the 50 cc models. The new NEO's are powered by the latest generation Yamaha Integrated Power Unit (YIPU). A high-efficiency brushless electric motor is mounted in the center of the rear wheel. The 50,4 V/19,2 Ah lithium-ion battery weighs just 8 kg and is positioned under the saddle in the center of the frame. The battery can be recharged both when it is installed on the vehicle and after removing it to connect it to a power outlet. The approval is for mopeds and the autonomy can reach up to 68km.
The NEO's is currently the third best-selling electric scooter in Italy and in 2023 it will also be available in the AQUA version.

HONDA

Honda is showing the EM2023e at Eicma 1, the first Honda electric scooter available on the European market, and the first electric model of the recently announced electric range which foresees the introduction of over 10 new electric models globally by 2025. It is the first significant step by Honda towards achieving the goal of carbon neutrality for its entire range of motorcycles and scooters by the 2040-2050 decade.
The new EM1 is powered by the Honda Mobile Power Pack removable battery system designed with the focus on durability, reliability and quality. A single full charge offers a range of over 40km. As its name suggests, the Mobile Power Pack is an interchangeable battery that can be conveniently removed and recharged at home and then placed back on the scooter.

Vmoto Soco Group is at EICMA 2023, presenting for the occasion its updated range of vehicles, which includes the CPx, CUx and CUmini scooters, the TC and TS scramblers and the VS1 and F01 scooters for the business market. Protagonists of the Vmoto stand will also be the Stash motorcycle together with the On-R and Off-R, presented at the recent Vmoto Day at the Misano circuit. EICMA will also be an opportunity to see the developments of an unprecedented project, the result of the agreement signed last year with Pininfarina, one of the most prestigious design centers in the world.

ZEEHO & ​​CF MOTO

CF MOTO and ZEEHO will present their new models together at EICMA 2023. Technology and sustainable mobility are the cornerstones of the new CF MOTO and ZEEHO range. The first brand is working on an electric cross model, while ZEEHO already has several models of electric scooters ready for the market: the AE6 and the AE8, both in the basic, + and S+ versions. ZEEHO is working on a futuristic scooter derived from the MAGNET concept model and on an urban motorcycle.

NIU is at EICMA 2023 to present its updated range of electric mobility vehicles at the Milan Show: scooters, scooters and ebikes. In the electric scooter sector NIU is one of the market leaders and one of the suppliers of the major scooter sharing companies. Its range includes the N, M and U series electric scooters, Q series electric scooters and B series e-bikes.

FELO

The Chinese FELO, main sponsor of the Gresini Racing team in the world championship MotoE, brings its two main models to EICMA: the FE-06, the electric scooter used by the Gresini MotoGP team to travel around the world championship paddock, and the FW-03.
The FW-06 is a 125cc equivalent scooter that immediately catches the eye for its technological and futuristic appearance. The Felo FW-06 is equipped with a 96V/58Ah lithium battery for a range of up to 140km. The maximum power is 10kW for a maximum speed of 110km/h.
The FW-03 takes up the lines of the legendary Booster of the 90s, reaches 80km/h, has a maximum power of 6kW and, thanks to the 72V/58Ah battery, reaches a range of up to 120km.
A special version of the FW-06 created in collaboration with the Sic58 Squadra Corse will be presented at EICMA.

Fantic

At the Fantic stand it will be possible to see the ISSIMO City, a scooter with an innovative and original design, available in two models L1, 45 km/h, and L3, 65 km/h. The 3kW motor is made by Dell'Orto. The autonomy of the ISSIMO City is 72 km which rises to over 140 km in the case of dual batteries.
In addition to the Electric, Fantic is showcasing the ISSIMO 45 s-pedelec, a commuting bike for moving around the city in an eco-sustainable way, capable of operating with just the accelerator or with just the pedals, which can be assisted by the engine or not, or combining accelerator and pedal assistance.
