Incentives for the purchase of electric mopeds and motorcycles have also been allocated for 2025: the total amount of the ecobonus is 30 million euros. The funds are available from March 18.

Incentives are also available for 2025 for those who want to buy a motorcycle or scooter, whether electric or hybrid. The amount of the ecobonus for two-wheeled electric vehicles is 30 million in accordance with the provisions of the 2021 budget law. From March 18, dealerships can return to booking the contribution by requesting it on the portal dedicated to the Ecobonus (ecobonus.mise.gov.it). The Ecobonus also includes the category of electric quadricycles.

The Ecobonus 2025 for electric motorcycles and scooters
The 2025 incentive for electric motorcycles and scooters is 30%, up to a maximum of 3.000 euros excluding VAT, for purchase without scrapping, while it is 40%, up to a maximum of 4.000 euros excluding VAT, for purchase with scrapping of an old vehicle with approval between Euro 0 and Euro 3. The ecobonus is calculated on the percentage of the purchase price of a new electric vehicle, belonging to the L1e, L2e, L3e, L4e, L5e, L6e, L7e categories.
Here is the description of the seven categories:

  • L1: electric or endothermic two-wheeled vehicles up to 45 km/h
  • L2: three-wheeled vehicles up to 45 km/h
  • L3: vehicles with a displacement greater than 50 cc and/or a speed greater than 45 km/h
  • L4: three asymmetric wheels (sidecar) with a displacement of over 50cc and a speed of over 45 km/h
  • L5: three symmetrical wheels with a displacement of over 50cc and a speed of over 45 km/h
  • L6: light quadricycles with a speed less than or equal to 45 km/h and an unladen mass less than or equal to 350 kg excluding the mass of batteries for electric vehicles
  • L7: quadricycles other than light quadricycles (4-wheeled) with an unladen mass of less than or equal to 400 kg (550 kg for vehicles intended for the transport of goods) excluding the mass of batteries for electric vehicles and maximum net power of less than 15 kW

The contribution is paid directly by the seller who is required to register on the Ecobonus platform and book the contribution for each individual motorcycle sold. A discount will be applied to the purchase price for the customer.
From March 18, dealers can enter on the platform ecobonus.mise.gov.it requests, until available resources run out.
