Alessandro Zaccone in pole position with al MotoE in the 2025 French GP – The MotoE French GP, the first round of the 2025 MotoGP electric category, takes place at Le Mans this weekend. Alessandro Zaccone will be starting from pole position in the first race of the season, which is his fourth career pole and the first with the new Aruba Cloud team MotoE. After two very close sessions in the morning, Mattia Casadei had achieved the best time ahead of Granado, Torres, Gutierrez, Zannoni, Zaccone, Baldassarri and Herrera. These riders went directly to Q1 while Ferrari, Spinelli, Finello, Bernardi, Hosciuc, Varga, Fusco, Mantovani and Occhi had to compete in Q2.

The results of the Q1 of the MotoE French GP 2025
The qualifying session began with Q1 in which, surprisingly, participated Matteo Ferrari (FELO Gresini MotoE), Nicolas Spinelli (Rivacold Snipers Team) and Andrea Mantovani (Klint Forward Team).
The session started immediately with the fastest laps of Ferrari and Spinelli. Ferrari recorded the excellent time of 1.40:079 while behind him, Mantovani overtook Spinelli, with a time of 1.40:219. After some very fast laps, Ferrari decided to return to the pits while Mantovani and Spinelli remained on the track to fight for access to Q2. The contest ended early due to Bernardi's slip at turn 3. As a precaution, the race stewards displayed the red flag to remove the Ducati of the Aruba team from the gravel trap. Ferrari and Mantovani thus passed into Q2.

The results of Q2 and the starting grid of the French GP of MotoE 2025
Q2 starts with the fastest duo of free practice entering the track first to dictate the pace of qualifying. The two LCR team riders rush to the finish line to begin their first timed lap but Casadei makes a mistake at turn three and falls. The Italian rider manages to restart but has to return to the pits due to the damage his bike suffered in the crash. Granado, probably due to caution induced by the fall of his teammate, does a fairly slow lap while the lead in the standings is taken by Oscar Gutierrez. Behind him are Alessandro Zaccone and Andrea Mantovani.
In the next lap, Granado took the lead, but only for a few seconds. Behind him, Alessandro Zaccone arrived, setting a new track record of 1.39:545, nine thousandths better than Granado. Q2 ended with Gutierrez third, 154 thousandths from Zaccone's pole.
Excellent performance by rookie Lorenzo Baldassarri, eighth, and by Maria Herrera, ninth, who returns to the top of the standings after a long time. Casadei instead has to settle for tenth place on the grid in both races scheduled for tomorrow.
