At Mugello, Alessandro Zaccone took the pole position of the Italian GP ahead of the two riders of the Dynavolt IntactGP team, Lukas Tulovic and Hector Garzò. Sixth is the championship leader, Kevin Zannoni.

Alessandro Zaccone in pole position in the Italian GP MotoE 2024 – This weekend, on the Mugello track, the Italian GP, the fourth round of the MotoE 2024, the electric category of MotoGP, will be held.
After the two morning sessions, Alessandro Zaccone had achieved the best time ahead of Ferrari, Spinelli, Granado, Garzò, Casadei, Zannoni and Finello. These riders went directly to Q2, while Oscar Gutierrez, third in the general classification, had to compete in Q1.

The qualifying session began with Q1, in which took part Oscar Gutierrez (Axxis MSI), third in the championship, Jordi Torres (Openbank Aspar Team), two-time champion MotoE, and Andrea Mantovani (Klint Forward Factory), winner at Mugello a year ago.
It was Lukas Tulovic (Dynavolt IntactGP) who first took the lead in the session, setting a 1:56.603, but was immediately overtaken by Mantovani, who recorded a time of 1:56.594.
At this point, no one managed to do better than Mantovani and Tulovic because the rain had started to fall on the Mugello circuit. A few drops, which, however, caused Mantovani to crash at Casanova-Savelli corner. The Forward team rider was thrown from his bike, which continued its race without a rider towards the first Arrabbiata corner.
Mantovani and Tulovic thus advanced to Q2 but only Tulovic managed to take part because it was not possible to recover and repair Mantovani's bike in time.

The results of Q2 and the starting grid of the Italian GP of the MotoE 2024

To take advantage of the laps already completed in Q1, Lukas Tulovic immediately entered the track to compete in Q2. The German rider immediately set the fastest lap. Mattia Casadei was the first to lower Tulovic's time, bringing the best session time to 1:55.983.
As the minutes passed, several riders improved, alternating in the top positions, but it was Alessandro Zaccone who drastically lowered the best time of the session, dropping first to 1:55.752 and then to 1:55.466, the new record of MotoE at Mugello. The Tech3 team rider thus secured his first pole position in MotoE.
The one who got closest to the Italian rider was always Tulovic, who obtained an excellent second place in the final classification ahead of his teammate, Hector Garzò. Eric Granado, Mattia Casadei, and the championship leader, Zannoni, will start on the second row in tomorrow's two races.
