The young Spanish rider of the Openbank Aspar Team completes his best performance of the season in MotoE with a sixth place in the Catalan GP. His teammate, Maria Herrera, closed in eleventh place.

Openbank Aspar Team rider Fermín Aldeguer has achieved his first great result of this season, a sixth position in the Catalan Grand Prix. Aldeguer, who has been one of the strongest riders of the weekend, could not confirm this in the race after having to start seventh. Despite not being able to meet the goal of being in front, the Spanish rider finished only 1,8 seconds behind the winner and is now thirteenth in the standings. His teammate María Herrera started the race more cautiously, but was able to regain positions with respect to her fifteenth place on the grid to finally finish eleventh, two tenths off the top 10.
Next round on June 27th on the Dutch circuit of Assen.

María Herrera
“I started well, but I was in a bad position at the first corner. I had a bit of respect after the time we've been standing on the grid, because I didn't know how the tyres would respond. I have seen some falls and I have been cautious, and that has made me stay behind, but I have recovered some position. I have lacked sensations to be able to pull hard. I was trying, but I was spinning a lot and I couldn't control it. We are close, but I need to find myself a little more comfortable to compete with the group."

“It was a good weekend, I was feeling good and I was being fast, but we didn't finish. I saw myself with a chance to finish in front, but my rivals made different lines that did not allow me to overtake them. I am happy with how the weekend went, and although we have not met the objective I had, we will consider it again in the next race."
