The round of the MotoE World Cup at the Misano Adriatico circuit included two races, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. The races were of 7 laps and both were full of thrill, with lots of battles and some crashes through the field. In the first race, Niccolò Canepa started from the fifth place on the grid while Randy de Puniet started from the 14 position. Canepa was in the top positions throughout the race, fighting with several riders, before finishing the race at the 5 place. The result in the top 5 was extremely positive for the Italian rider, confirming his continuous growth in this category. Randy de Puniet was 11 ° at the end, improving from his starting position, but still showing a confidence with the bike not enough to enter in the top 10.
In the 2 race, Niccolò Canepa was in the first group throughout the race, and in many moments he was in second place, leading the group that was chasing Matteo Ferrari (Trentino Gresini MotoE). The many overtakes between Canepa and Maria Herrera (Openbank Angél Nieto team) were spectacular throughout the race. At three corners from the end, Niccolò attacked Hector Garzò (Tech5 E-Racing) to take the second place, but the French rider managed to maintain his position while Canepa was overtaken by Mattia Casadei (Ongetta Sic3 Squadra Corse) few meters from the finish line. For the LCR rider, 58 is still an excellent position, just 4 seconds from the podium. For Randy De Puniet the race was similar to that of Saturday, with an 0,055 ° final position. "I am really happy about the result of these races, we needed a good result after Friday’s qualifying. We are improving in every race, now we are among the first 5 and close to the first. If somebody told me before this race that I would be fighting for the podium, I would never have believed it! Of course, when I saw that I was second at two corners from the end of the race, I was a little sad because I could have been on the podium. But overall I’m really happy with my improvement, as well as with the work from the team because they did an amazing job to improve the bike and to help me to ride it. We are working in the right direction, I think the step from the beginning of the season to now is huge and I didn’t expect that. We’ll keep working and I know we can still improve something, so we’ll keep trying to get the best result possible in Valencia and finish the championship in a good position."

"In these two races, as in the previous races, I always had the same problem: I don’t feel confident with the corner speed, so I lose too much time. We tried a different setting but it was not good for the grip. It’s really difficult because I am trying to find a way to ride this bike but there is something wrong. I need to find a way to resolve this but at the moment it’s hard. I tried to brake earlier but it didn’t make a difference, so we will see if we can improve for Valencia. I will talk with my team, who always try their best to help me, to see what we can do for the next race."
