The third race of the season of the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup was once again full of tension. In an incredible final attack, Dominique Aegerter overtook Mattia Casadei taking third place behind Matteo Ferrari and Xavier Simeon.
Starting from fifth position, Aegerter initially managed to keep his position but due to a couple of mistakes he had dropped to seventh position.
With four laps to go, the Dynavolt Intact GP rider set the fastest lap of the race by picking up his pace, picking up positions and coming close to the podium with two laps to go.
In the last lap, in the last sector, Dominique overtook the Italian Mattia Casadei getting the third podium in three races and keeping the lead of the championship.

“It was actually a very difficult weekend because we didn't immediately find the right direction. I also had to adapt my riding style and it wasn't until today in the race that I really understood how to ride my bike in a better way. The team helped me a lot so that I was able to set significantly faster times. I got off to a good start in the race, but then made a mistake on the first lap, which is why I lost a position. Two or three small mistakes crept in towards the middle of the race too and that's something that can be devastating to such a short sprint race. Otherwise, my pace was good and I'm really looking forward to next week because I think I'll be able to start on a completely different level, which will hopefully allow me to fight at the front again. The fact that I finished on the podium today was certainly important because I also left my two main competitors behind and was able to extend my championship lead by one point. I'm looking forward to the next two races on Saturday and Sunday. Many thanks to my team, all sponsors, and the fans on-site, I saw a lot of Swiss flags out there, which really supported me today.”
