The Spanish Grand Prix of the MotoE provided a great show on the Jerez de la Frontera circuit. Dominique Aegerter started his experience in MotoE in a very positive way, with an excellent third place.
Even though Aegerter's race was not completely error-free, the comeback in the second part of the race was truly spectacular.
Unfortunately Aegerter, rookie of the MotoGP electric class, has lost four positions at the start and from there he started his comeback. Three laps from the end the Swiss was fighting with Medina and Torres to get the fifth place. In a great action, the rider of the Dynavolt Intact GP team overtook Medina from the inside, and then attacked Lukas Tulovic for the third place. In the last corner Aegerter tried to get the second place but Matteo Ferrari closed the line to the Swiss rider who thus crossed the finish line in third position.
Impossible for anyone to keep the pace of Eric Granado who finished with a surprising +3.044 seconds on the second.
The next round of the MotoE will be the Red Bull Grand Prix de Andalucía also at the Jerez Circuit over the next weekend.

Dominique Aegerter
""I am super happy with my first race and podium here at my debut in MotoE. The race was super short and even though I had a good start, I lost four positions which was kind of surprising. But I instantly focused on improving and overtaking some riders as quickly as possible. To finish this first experience and race weekend on the podium is great, yet I know we still need to improve. It's good that we already race again next weekend and of course, I hope to start off again in the same way. The conditions will be pretty much the same next week so we can profit from the data gained this weekend. I'd not only like to thank my crew for their great work but also Dorna, the promoter and everyone to have made this season even possible."
