After the six-week summer break, the race in Austria inaugurates the final phase of the MotoE World Cup which will end with the double race in Misano for the San Marino GP. Aegerter is currently 17 points behind the leader of the standings.

Three podiums in four GP are certainly a good result, but in a championship that consists of only seven races, every mistake weighs heavily. After the crash at TT Circuit Assen at the end of June, Aegerter, runner-up last year in the electric class, slipped to fourth place and is tied with Eric Granado, 17 points behind the current world leader Alessandro Zaccone. There are still 75 points left before we see who will be the 2021 winner.

MotoE World Cup 2021
The overall standings

The 4,3km Red Bull Ring is one of the most challenging tracks on the calendar due to braking and elevation gain, but the Dynavolt Intact GP team supporting the 30-year-old Swiss will do everything possible to work on an ideal racing set-up. The goal is to overturn the situation again before the last two races in Misano. Just like last weekend at the Styrian Grand Prix, conditions could be very changeable and rainy again.

Dominique Aegerter
“I'm looking forward to getting back on my MotoE bike after all this time, even if I crashed in the last race. I very much hope to be able to make amends on Sunday. It will be the first time that I'll be racing in Spielberg on a MotoE, which could give those who raced here two years ago a small advantage. They simply know the demands on this track with an electric motorcycle. I'm coming from a World Supersport win, so I feel pretty good and I know from experience that switching between the two completely different machines doesn't cause me any problems. The aim on Friday is to set up the motorcycle for the track as quickly as possible and to push it to the limit. I hope that we can make good progress straight away, that we can collect valuable information, and that I can give good feedback to my team. I am ready, I feel prepared as I trained a little over the last two days. Spielberg is a track that has hard braking zones, but I still know the Red Bull Ring from Moto2, so I'm not too worried about that."
