The 2023 season of the MotoE by Ducati has officially started. On the Jerez de la Frontera track, the riders of the MotoE World Championship have ridden for the first time the Ducati V21L, the electric prototype of the Borgo Panigale manufacturer.

Second day of testing for the MotoE 2023 with the new Ducati V21L on the Jerez circuit and new track record. After a first day with rain and a damp track, teams and riders were finally able to test the new MotoE on a dry track with slick tyres. After a couple of interim sessions, with no rain but still many puddles on the track, in the afternoon the technicians of the teams of MotoE were finally able to mount slick tyres.
Veterans of the MotoE didn't take many laps to get used to the new bike. Already in the first round with slick tires, Eric Granado (LCR E-Team) set the best lap time with 1:48.898, ahead of the IntactGP team duo formed by Hector Garzò and Randy Krummenacher, with the Swiss best rookie up to that moment.

The best times were recorded in the last session of the day, at 16:45, with the track almost completely dry, apart from some damp patches in a couple of areas of the Jerez track. Fastest again was Eric Granado, who made five laps under the time of 1:48 and broke the MotoE track record by 0,4 seconds, with the lap time of 1:47.053. Behind the Brazilian rider, Matteo Ferrari (FELO Gresini MotoE), also below the previous track record, with 1:47.310. Third was the rookie Nicholas Spinelli (Pons Racing 40), surprisingly less than half a second behind Granado, after only 15 laps with the MotoE.
With the lowering of the lap times, the first crashes also arrived, with Luca Salvadori and Andrea Mantovani down but without consequences.
