Race 2 of the MotoE of the French GP – This weekend, on the iconic French circuit of Le Mans, it's time for the first round of the 2023 season of the MotoE, the first with World Championship status and with the new V21L electric Ducati.
The race was won by the champion of MotoE 2019, Matteo Ferrari, of the Felo Gresini MotoE team. The rider from Rimini preceded the winner of Race 1, Jordi Torres and Hector Garzò.
Matteo Ferrari, who started from pole position, immediately took the lead of the race, moving in front of Garzò and Torres. The Gresini rider knew that he would have to serve a long lap penalty for crashing under yellow flag in Race 1.
Ferrari pushed hard, doing many fast laps at a pace of 1:40. On the fourth lap, Ferrari served the long lap penalty, rejoining in third position, behind Torres and Garzò and ahead of Casadei and Spinelli.
The Italian rider recovered up to the first position, first overtaking Garzò and, on the last lap, Jordi Torres. Behind the first three, in the Top 10 we find Casadei, Spinelli, Mantovani, Krummenacher, Zannoni, Zaccone and Okubo.
For Gresini Racing it is the 200th podium in the World Championship.
The detailed report and photo gallery of Race 1 and Race 2 of MotoE in Le Mans will follow on Epaddock during the day.
