The results of Q2 and the starting grid of the Catalan GP of the MotoE 2024
Rookie Oscar Gutierrez (Axxis-Msi) was the first on track in Q2, setting a time of 1:49.265. The last riders to enter the track were the two from the LCR E-Team: Eric Granado and Mattia Casadei. The latter immediately achieved the best time with 1:48.431 in the first flying lap, while Lukas Tulovic, who had qualified from Q1, was unable to start from the pits due to a technical problem.
Alessandro Zaccone immediately showed off his excellent feeling with the Barcelona track, taking the lead in the standings with a time of 1:48.247. A few moments later it was Casadei again who took the lead in the session, recording exactly the same time as Zaccone. At that point Q2 seemed to be over, due to the yellow flag displayed in the first sector due to Matteo Ferrari's crash.
This was not the case however because Granado managed to pass at that point before the Gresini team rider's fall and took first place in the standings with a time of 1:48.215.
The first row of the starting grid of the two races of the Catalan GP of MotoE it is therefore made up of the LCR team duo, Granado-Casadei, and Zaccone (Tech3 E-Racing). Spinelli, Gutierrez and Garzò will start behind them. This is the second pole position for the Brazilian rider in Barcelona and the tenth of his MotoE career.
