WithU is the new main sponsor of the team of MotoE "One Energy Racing". Officially presented on Tuesday 28 in Milan, WithU (here the link to the site) is the new mobile and fiber voice brand of the Europe Energy group, which aims at the ambitious goal of “becoming the first major operator in Italy to offer its customers the possibility of signing mobile and internet telephony contracts with a single entity in addition to electricity and gas ”. Behind all this is Matteo Ballarin, an entrepreneur active in the electricity market from 1999, who owns the "One Energy" team together with Johan Stigefelt and Razlan Razali. Europe Energy is also an important partner of the Sepang International Circuit team present in MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3.
1 - What is your commitment to the world of motorcycle racing?
The interest stems from a very precise marketing analysis. We were looking for an extremely dynamic sport, which was considered positively all over the world, something that does not happen for example with football, and that was perceived as accessible, which does not seem to apply to Formula1. 2 - How come the MotoE?
I have been working in the supply of electricity and gas for exactly twenty years, so I am very careful about innovations in this field. And I know that, while electric cars are now cleared through customs, the situation is different for motorcycles. For me to invest in MotoE it means investing in the future.
3 - La MotoE Will it help to attract sponsors other than those already present in the World Championship?
For sure. This is a complementary industry to traditional motorcycling, but - at the same time - completely new. Suffice it to see who is the main sponsor of the championship (Enel - ed): someone who had never invested heavily in the World Championship before.
4 - Is your driver, the English Bradley Smith, really the favorite, as many think?
Yes. It will not be easy, but it is to achieve this goal that we are here.
5 - What is the budget of the MotoE Summit in which Dorna met investors, sponsors and teams?
A very inspiring picture came out: there is the widespread feeling that something new is being created with a lot of potential. Excitement is great.
